YMCA of the Capital Area
OUR MISSION: Our YMCA is an Association of people united in common effort to enhance the quality of life-spiritually, mentally, physically and socially for all-in the communities we serve through the ecumenical application of Christian Principles.
Since 1917, the YMCA of the Capital Area has been serving the community with programs and services that meet the needs of the people. Each branch or extension is unique in its offerings. Remember, your membership allows you to use all 7 facilities in the Capital Area, including Addis.
The YMCA of the Capital Area is constantly committed to reaching farther, and working harder to meet the diverse needs of the community, and it could not be done without the constant support of our volunteers. In 2008, the Y benefited from the work of thousands of volunteers who donated $934,792 worth of volunteers hours! Together, staff and volunteers continue to work in our community to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
