OUR MISSION: Our YMCA is an Association of people united in a common effort to enhance the quality of life, spiritually, mentally, physically and socially, for all, in the communities we serve, through the ecumenical application of Christian principles.
Since 1917, the YMCA of the Capital Area has been serving the community with programs and services that meet the needs of the people. Each branch or extension is unique in its offerings. Check the program and facility grid for specific branch services. Remember, your membership allows you to use all 8 facilities in the Capital Area, including Gonzales and Addis.
The YMCA of the Capital Area is constantly committed to reaching farther, and working harder to meet the diverse needs of the community, and it could not be done without the constant support of our volunteers.
In 2007, the Y benefited from the work of 2,976 volunteers who donated over 40,000 hours of time! This goes above the call of duty, and becomes a labor of love. It is no wonder that the YMCA of the Capital Area is one of the most outstanding of its size in the world. Together, staff and volunteers make it happen. Thank you for providing the resources to make this YMCA the best it can be. Let’s continue to build on the foundation of giving that is the Y legacy.
