Alzheimer's is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. Symptoms usually develop slowly and get worse over time, becoming severe enough to interfere with daily tasks. At the Y, we are committed to helping you live a long and healthy life. A memory screening is just like any other routine health check-up. It’s a simple, non-invasive test designed to gauge memory, thinking and language skills. Although a screening result is not a diagnosis, scoring below the normal threshold can signal whether an individual should seek a thorough evaluation from his or her physician. For additional information, please contact the YMCA locations listed above.
